THE SECOND WEEKEND

IN AUGUST

Every August, the town of Wallaceburg comes alive with Wallaceburg Antique Motor + Boat Outing (WAMBO). Where the streets fill with classic cars, the waterfront lines with antique boats, and people come in from across the region to listen to live music, shop local vendors, and catch up with each other.

What started more than 30 years ago has grown into one of Canada’s largest transportations festivals.

A WALLACEBURG SUMMER TRADITION

WAMBO runs through downtown Wallaceburg, from the main streets to the river’s edge, with something happening in every direction.

Classic cars line the streets, antique boats sit along the Sydenham River, fire trucks, motor coaches and motorcycles, and vendors, food, and live music are spread throughout the surrounding area. Local shops and restaurants stay open, giving you a place to step in, cool off, and take a break before heading back out.

It’s all close together, so you can move through it without much planning. If you need it, shuttle service is available to help you get from one end of the event to the other.

Come for a few hours or make a day of it, there’s plenty to take in either way.

WAMBO has been part of Wallaceburg summers for over three decades.

SINCE 1989

What started as a small local gathering now brings together thousands of people from across Chatham-Kent, Southwestern Ontario, and beyond each year.

From the beginning, WAMBO has been organized by volunteers, and that’s still the case today. It’s planned, set up, and run by people from the community who put in the time to keep it going.

At its core, not much has changed. It’s still a weekend built around classic cars and antique boats, and around giving people a reason to come downtown, spend time together, and enjoy the summer.

30,000 VISITORS + 100 VENDORS

WAMBO is one of the busiest weekends of the summer in Chatham-Kent, with steady foot traffic through the park and downtown core from morning into the evening.

People come to walk, look around, and take their time, which makes it a good setting for vendors to connect with a wide mix of locals and visitors.

Whether you’re selling food, handmade goods, or running a small business, it’s a chance to be part of an established event and meet people who come back year after year.
